Overview
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Audio Engineer to support our live worship services and other church events to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ within our congregation and the wider community through the production of high-quality audio.

Primary responsibilities will include operating a digital audio board during live worship and other events, troubleshooting, testing, installing and repairing equipment and connections, and providing technical expertise for high-quality live streams. You will also identify, recruit, and train volunteers from each ministry to be proficient in sound mixing, using Planning Center Online to assign volunteers for services and events.

Responsibilities
Live Production
  • Operate digital audio board during live worship and other events, adjusting sound levels and other parameters to ensure excellence in sound quality
  • Perform proper sound checks, including gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume settings and eq/mixing process
  • Communicate with the video control room audio technician that lines are working and assigned properly, using Dante Network Protocol
  • Test and resolve various equipment, cable, or microphone issues
  • Provide technical expertise related to live audio, recordings, and live streams
  • Support special events (e.g., VBS, Weddings, etc.) with audio technology needs
Ongoing weekday, onsite duties
  • Prepares for upcoming services by reviewing worship plans and attending planning meetings before events
  • Attend post-event assessment meetings; receive and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  • Set up for musicians, pastors, and various guest speakers utilizing wired and wireless microphones, various loudspeakers, and recording/playback equipment
  • Connecting cables, recording and mixing consoles for live worship and other events, and performing proper line checks
  • Set up, operate, test, and troubleshoot audio equipment as needed
  • Ensures excellent audio quality across all broadcast platforms
  • Participates in rehearsals as needed
  • Post-service strike; clear the stage and or room of equipment and store it properly
Additional Duties
  • Identify, recruit, and train volunteers from each ministry to be proficient in sound mixing
  • Use Planning Center Online to assign volunteers for services and events
  • Support other media-related duties as assigned by the department Director or pastoral staff
Requirements
  • Proficiency in live audio mixing 5+ years REQUIRED
  • Experience using Dante Network Protocol REQUIRED
  • 2+ years mixing in a large venue (+2500)
  • Must demonstrate basic sound engineering principles and mixing techniques
  • Ability to think quickly and react/troubleshoot properly in high-stress situations
  • Detail-oriented and committed to excellence

Education Requirements:
  • Associate degree from an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university preferred, or
  • Certificate from an accredited media/audio-related trade school
Job Type: Full-time Sunday through Thursday (40+ hours weekly)
  • 3 church services on Sunday mornings with live video feed
  • 1 church service on Monday evening
  • Attend staff meetings, planning, and training throughout the week as scheduled
  • Evenings and weekends as needed
  • Special activities (weddings, funerals, etc.)
  • Study groups/classes
Work Location: In person on the church campus in Montgomery, TX
